The Jallianwala Bagh massacre of Amritsar in Punjab on the festival of Baisakhi on 13 April 1919 has completed 99 years today. Remembering the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “I salute the martyrs who died mercilessly in Jallianwala Bagh on this day.” We will never forget his courage and sacrifice. His valor will inspire Indians for years to come.

For the information, on 13 April 1919, on the occasion of Baisakhi, in the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, under the leadership of Brigadier General Reginald Dyer, the British army fired on them and killed hundreds of people including unarmed, elderly, women and children and thousands People were injured. Jallianwala Bagh is a small garden near the Golden Temple in Amritsar. On the orders of British officer Brigadier General Dyer, 1650 rounds of bullets were showered for 10 minutes, the bullet marks on the walls are still present.
